#1 – Villanova (16-1) – No Change
Villanova is #1 in KenPom and the polls.
#2 – Virginia (16-1) – Up 1
Virginia’s only loss is to a top-five team on the road by single digits, and the ‘Cavs have the second toughest strength of schedule of the one-loss teams
#3 – Purdue (17-2) – Up 5
Purdue is still undefeated in the US, beating Michigan and Minnesota this week.
#4 – Duke (15-2) – Up 1
Duke is perhaps the most talented team in the country, but losses to NC State and Boston College hold them back from a top three spot.
#5 – West Virginia (15-2) – Down 3
West Virginia’s wins over Virginia and Oklahoma keep the Mountaineers in the top five despite a loss to Texas Tech.
#6 – Oklahoma (14-2) – Up 1
Trae Young and the Sooners’ victory over Texas Tech means they swap places with the Red Raiders.
#7 – Texas Tech (15-2) – Down 1
Despite beating my then-#2 team, Texas Tech drops a spot due to the loss to Oklahoma earlier this week.
#8 – Gonzaga (16-3) – Up 3
Gonzaga keeps on winning, they face St. Mary’s this week.
#9 – Michigan State (16-3) – Down 5
Michigan State, once the #1 team, has played awful in their past three games, going 1-2, with the win being at home to lowly Rutgers… in overtime.
#10 – Wichita State (15-2) – Down 1
Wichita State stays in the top ten, but a game against Tulsa that was a lot closer than it should’ve been drops the Shockers one spot.
#11 – North Carolina (14-4) – Up 7
North Carolina is back in form, murdering Boston College on Tuesday and picking up a road win against Notre Dame on Saturday.
#12 – Cincinnati (15-2) – Up 2
Cincinnati is back up to the top half of the top 25. The Bearcats play @ UCF on Tuesday.
#13 – Kansas (14-3) – Down 3
Kansas didn’t lose this week, but all three teams that the Jayhawks lost to did, devaluing their resume.
#14 – Xavier (16-3) – Up 1
I’ve been lower on Xavier than most for a while, and the Musketeers got killed by Nova on Wednesday, but a win over Creighton on Saturday redeemed Chris Mack’s squad, who will face Seton Hall this week.
#15 – Auburn (16-1) – Up 8
Auburn jets up the top 25 rankings. Their strength of schedule barely cracks the top 100, but the one in the loss coulumn is impressive enough to warrant a spot in the top 15.
#16 – Ohio State (15-4) – NEW
Ohio State was on the national radar after upsetting Michigan State two weeks ago, but this past week was the cherry on top, wins over Maryland and Rutgers pushed the Buckeyes to 6-0 in the Big Ten.
#17 – Michigan (15-4) – NEW
Not only did Michigan beat Michigan State on Saturday, but they were one shot away from doing the same to Purdue earlier on in the week, head-to-head keeps them behind OSU.
#18 – Creighton (14-4) – Down 1
I’ve been way too high on Creighton all year, and it burned me on Saturday, as the Bluejays were victimized by Xavier.
#19 – Arizona (14-4) – Up 2
Arizona’s losses to NC State and Colorado really hurt, but somehow the Wildcats are still the favorites in the Pac-12.
#20 – Clemson (15-2) – Up 2
The Tigers lost to NC State but beat Miami, and I’ll take that as a net positive for the week.
#21 – Arizona State (14-3) – Down 8
I don’t know when the national media will figure out that Arizona State is overrated, but the Sun Devils have already dropped out of the KenPom top 25.
#22 – Kentucky (14-3) – Up 2
I don’t know about this Kentucky team, they barely got by both Texas A&M and Vanderbilt this week, two teams with a combined conference record of 1-9.
#23 – Tennessee (12-4) – NEW
Tennessee is back in the top 25, the Vols also beat those same Texas A&M and vanderbilt teams, but by a combined 21 points.
#24 – TCU (13-4) – Down 8
TCU is 1-4 in Big 12 play, the Horned Frogs have Iowa State and @ Kansas State to break that streak.
#25 – Seton Hall (15-3) – Down 6
Seton Hall lost to Marquette by 20, a loss that sent them tumbling out of my top 25 until a Notre Dame loss opened a spot back up.D
Dropped Out: Florida State, Florida, Notre Dame
